After selling my Volvo Amazon 220 Combi to my brother and putting the white Volvo 240 DL (which I still have) in a barn (with the licence suspended) I bought a Volvo 240 Turbo which should be a hobby-project: the car had some little rust and the turbo was completely broken: it was making a lot of noise and used a lot of oil.
The Volvo 240 Turbo sedan was imported from the USA (California) in 1986 and was sold there in 1983. It was a nice red sedan with B21FT engine and AW71 automatic transmission. It has beige leather upholstery, electric windows and electronic adjustable mirrors, Virgo rims (of course: it’s a Turbo!), airco (not working) and a sunroof. All the Turbo-accessories and instruments were still there and working fine! After replacing the turbo the car really runs well! But because a ’86 745 Estate was for sale at the 700 Club I liked the idea having a Estate-car (which should become tax-free) instead, so I sold the 240 Turbo to someone who wanted to upgrade the car to a rally-version. The new owner is still working on the car.

Here are some images of my Volvo 240 Turbo sedan. I really like the USA sealed beam headlights and the bignose front! Did you know this car was used in a movie and an article was written about the car in a Volvo club magazine? I never saw the promotional video where this 240 Turbo was used in, but thanks to a member of a Volvo forum I’ve got the Dutch article.  The Volvo 240 Turbo wasn’t maintained very well, as you can see at the air filter. But the turbo was broken, resulting in a oil-consuming and smoking engine. After replacing the turbo and replace a lot of ignition parts the 244 Turbo performed very nice! |  After some cleaning and waxing the Volvo 240 Turbo looked a lot better! |
 If you’re used to have a speedometer and odometer in kilometres it’s pretty hard to get used to a speedometer in miles. The Volvo 240 Turbo was imported from California and has a speedometer which goes to 80 miles per hour since it was a mandatory to have such a speedometer at that time in California |  The interior of the Volvo 240 Turbo, with leather upholstery.
